Now it's starting to look like a $3500 truck. If you don't know 80series Landcruisers than you don't understand how much a set of fully functioning non ripped seats are worth. I'm happy to keep'em for my project 80 because the rest of my interior is nice.

Charging light was on and the voltage gauge was reading low. I was hoping it was because of the stone dead battery. I installed a newer battery and sure enough light & gauge still reading low. Luckily I had a extra alternator in my parts stash. No more light or having to Jumpstart it.

 

I can say that the engine was spotless as far as any leaks are concerned. Once you got a few gallons of gas into it, she started right up after a few cranks. It has a newer dual cat pipe on it, it just needs a cat back system. Depending on the brand, they could be had for a few hundred bucks. ANSI brand is what I saw as O.E. equivalent. I used that brand on my 4 runner recently, the fit and finish is on par with Bosal.

The frame rust is what has me on the fence. I could care less about the bottoms of the doors and the small hole in the corner of the hood.

That was another area of concern, wasn't sure if some critters got up in there and made a mess of the wiring. Now it looks like everything is functioning like it should.

 

Out playin with it now. Besides the loud & rattling muffler it's driving great.

 

It definitely needed a alternator. I'm glad I spent some time goin over it and driving it today so I can give a more honest description when I relist it.

 

Sent a text today to Rob P. Says he misses TW family, but focusing on other things right now, including the dogs.

He did say he has a dent from off road. He hit his mailbox.

 

remember how I mashed up this front passenger step a little @$500TRD? took a ratchet strap to the front wheel, a 4lb sledge, and a 4x4 and got it pretty straight. Still a little off but much better clearance than it had.

It looks happy! Maybe drive into town and power wash off the underside.

I think that you gave a very honest description the 1st time. People expect something for nothing. I'm curious, did you try the locker switch to see if the rear does it's thing? It almost felt like it was locked when I went to end of the driveway and turned around. The brakes felt good ( for the 10 mph that I was going!)

I'd be interested in having another look at the frame after it's cleaned, that was the biggest thing that kept me from sitting down at the bargaining table with you. I'll even do the cleaning!

 

I have a gas & a electric power washer up here. I should do that then take pics. I didn't want to clean it too good because then potential buyers might think I'm trying to hide something. I had fun cruising the mountain with it today.

Aww. Does this mean he's doing better health wise? He'd had surgery and a slow recovery last we heard, I think.

I so wish I could. I was supposed to go crabbing tomorrow, too. Around 2pm. In an aluminum hull boat. THAT got cancelled lol
