EDIT: DECISION MADE! It was a lot of fun interacting with the community and getting your feedback. I went with the all black, leather perforated Clazzio seat covers. In stock and, after discount, $519. Can’t wait!

    Decisions…

I’ve only had my Taco about 3 weeks (see it in my profile). She’s a street beast. I don’t really have plans for off-roading. All I’ve done so far is remove the front air dam, add some AVS deflectors, and ordered the Screen ProTech kit.

I’m not going to be able to invest much more into it for a while after I spend what I currently have for it, which is around $600. I’ve got a list of options below. For less expensive items, I can combine. Prices are averages I’ve found. My truck, my decision…but for fun, what would you recommend first?

    TRD Pro Skid Plate ($500)
    Clazzio Seat Covers ($619)
    OTT Tune ($500)
TRD Pro Grille OEM w/ Amazon Garnish ($250)
    Sequential Turn Signals ($80)
    LED Tail Lights ($400)
Lomax Hard Tri-fold Tonneau Cover Matte ($800…beyond budget but could stretch if I had to)

I've done a bunch of stuff too but I'd have to say the OTT tune was the best bang for the buck for me.

    What's your gut say?

Didn't matter what I did first, and I did most of that list plus an unnatural amount more.

    Go with what's most pressing.

My first thing was a softopper, because I wanted to keep my camping gear out of the rain. But that's me.

    You listen to you.

Let's talk after you spend the $600. The $600 will turn to $6000 in a minute.

No doubt. I’m just getting started but there will be a longer break than I like before doing more. I don’t honestly plan on ever getting rid of this truck!

If you aren't offroading, maybe put the skid plate last? From that list I'd go with the tune in my imo opinion

Wise, this one is. I’m tempted to get the tune but it doesn’t drive as horrific as people make the stock tune out to be. Outside of that, I’m leaning towards the seat covers. Seats need to last and I don’t want them eventually looking stained. It’s inevitable that things will get spilled in there, dirt build-up, etc.

    Exactly.
Which is going to make YOU feel better driving it?
1st thing I did to mine (7yrs ago) was roll-up Access tonneau cover.
P.S. It's still on there and in great shape

Agreed. Skid plate was more of an aesthetic choice when there are other more practical options, such as the seat covers (which also add interior aesthetics).

For sure, the TRD skid plate is really good looking. Oncd my stock one (trd or) is scraped enough ima buy one.

Probably seat covers. I’d love to have the tonneau cover I listed because it could save me a little on gas. I drive round trip to work approx. 72 miles per day. But it’s the most expensive option on the list.

I’d go with the VLEDS tail light conversion for $180. IMO the taillights should have come this way stock. Super easy to install as well.
