Been driving manuals going 19 years now. I really enjoy HSA feature in my taco, of course I can drive without it just fine. Originally I wanted TRD OR but no MT in DCSB configuration in Canada.

This feature is absolutely non intrusive and helps save the clutch on steep inclines. It’s interesting that some folks want to disable it. I even enjoy it off-road, like when stopped on a very steep incline, it’s much easier to get going without spinning tires and losing traction.

    But that’s just me.:)

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
I find it very intrusive. I've been driving manual transmissions for 20 years, and you get used to doing things a certain way, like just taking your foot off the brake to roll out of your driveway/parking spot.

It also seems to be inconsistent. When I expect it to kick in, I suddenly find myself rolling back, while other times it engages when there's barely any incline at all.

Is it intrusive enough to get rid of the truck? No. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and maybe even come to like it (I've only had the truck for a week). But I'm also stubborn, and it's one of many nanny systems, poor software programming, and bad design choices that have been frustrating me about the 3rd gen.

I still love this truck, and hope to be driving it until gas stations go the way of the Blockbuster, but Toyota really dropped the ball on some features.
