I am installing the bamf hybrid bumper and badlands 12k apex on my 2010. I am going to have to relocate the control box. The winch came with the mounting bracket to do so, but I am having a hard time figuring out where to relocate it to. Does anyone have advice?

I'm in the same exact boat. Where did you mount it?

So I ended up mounting the winch whole on the bumper. The thin sheet metal piece that goes across the width of the front I cut on the inside of the screws holding it together. That left it plenty rigid and secure still. After that I trimmed out the bottom of the grill to fit the top of the solenoid head. I would be happy to get you pictures if needed.

Hey, in the middle of this currently. Sorry for brining it back up..
Would you mind posting a few photos of the cuts you made?

Anywhere it'll fit is fine, just make sure that you have room for the control plug or wireless dongle thing and that the wires to the winch itself won't rub on anything and you use something to protect them anywhere there's any chance that they might. I used a piece of split hose secured over mine where they crossed under the metal panel behind the grill.

Mine is near the washer fluid bottle on a simple bracket made from a bent piece of metal.

Are you using the Apex 12k winch? The control box is absurdly large and is hard to find a spot for it. It sounds like OP made a few cuts to leave it mounted on top of the winch, which is what I’d like to do if I can. Going to take another look this morning to see what I can do.

I have a different bumper, but this is how I mounted my control box.

Went back out this morning and finished it up. Ended up just doing away with the center support, and then cutting off the little horizontal crossmember. Plenty of room for the control box to stay on top of the winch.
