Went to remove the check plug during a fluid replacement to make sure it would come out.....it won't and my allen key socket snapped off inside the allen key hole in the plug. I'll get it out eventually (hammer and chisel have not worked so far) but am not able to get to the dealer and try to get a new one so does anyone know the thread/pitch for the check plug? I know it will be metric, I plan on getting a hex head bolt of the correct size from the hardware store tomorrow. Maybe more than likely it's the same thread/pitch as the drain plug? which I could bring with me.

    thanks

oh, if anyone suggests heat to remove the check plug, I would want to know does the plastic overfill on the inside of the pan, where the check plug is, come off easily so as not to warp it with heat?

I’m curious, as you Len key a ball head style?
Most of the Allen keys I use will start to twist before they break off.
