Those things really light it up compared to the stock fog lights. They work great for night driving in remote areas with no traffic. Just don't leave them on when you see a car in front of you.

Definitely not fog lights. They will be significantly hazardous to other vehicles and yourself in fog on the street. Those are strictly an off-road only light due to their lack of cut offs and non-compliant beam pattern. Great lights for their intended off road purpose, just not on road. If you have questions see this thread:

Mounting in the fog location is fine, they just can’t be used on the street as a fog light and are off road only. Ditch lights would work well too, be sure to angle them to the sides to minimize the hood glare in that location.

I have those only because I put on a new plate bumper with a winch, they are far brighter than the oem but as crashnburn80 said you’ll Ben blinding others and they do not deal with fog as good as the oem.

I wish I could have the oem fogs and those too but my bumper only has holes for one set of lights.

DD Max is said to be better

why do you need $400 lights in the fog hole

the last time I saw very thick fog was once. On a road trip, temporarily.
Painting the fog yellow with the power of the sun would not have changed the need to slow down

Different regions have different weather that may or may not necessitate fogs. SoCal likely doesn’t see a lot of bad weather that would need them. In the PNW mountains they are definitely helpful in winter.

If you need fogs, you need to slow down. Yellow is used for less reflection off the precipitation with a cut off so you can see beyond the fog rather than have the light bounce off it back at the driver reducing visibility. Fogs are used to have a wider field of view so that you can find the edges of the road way at low speeds. Since it is a very short range light pattern it will be ineffective at high speed.

socal temporarily listed in profile doesn’t mean SoCalDude

Just didn’t know if they’re actually helpful at all, anywhere

which, now that you mention it, SoCal does have a ton of mildly upgraded fog trucks
    without fog
