rear window molding (rubber) on my 2015 Tacoma has spots seemingly in the rubber. I have tried several compounds/cleaners to remove but no success. Anyone help?

I won't be able to help, because mine has had the same problem since I got it in 2015 or so. I've tried everything, and nothing has gotten rid of them. The only thing that had any impact for the higher surface level stains was using a magic eraser pad. But I've tried ArmorAll wipes, Clorox wipes, magic eraser, Simple Green, Back to Black, and all kinds of other things to no avail.

If you find something, let me know!

I suggest you do the following:
    1. Get it as clean as possible, whatever way you want.
    2. Once it's dry, clean it again with an alcohol solution/wipes.
    3. Once it's dry (again), coat the rubber with Cerakote Trimcoat. It's an actual coating that will make the rubber look new again and will seal the surface.

That should help a lot with it returning, and it also makes the rubber look like new again.

Doing this on mine made a HUGE difference in all of the rubber trim parts around the windows.

Do you know if that's the same product as the GTechniq C4? I'm looking at doing this procedure soon, but want to get the right compounds since they're all pretty expensive.

Side windows also have this problem.
I used 3M red pads (tape over any painted areas) and sanded/cleaned using simple green (scrub with 3M till clean).
Then apply Back to Black and lasts about a year or more.
Simple, cheap, and quick to do and comes out OK.

I have no idea. I've never used any of their products before.

Same here. Some dirt is removed as evidenced by the black grime on the shop towel (white), but the spots remain. I have tried everything including alcohol wipes, nail-polish remover, and brake, carb and throttle-body cleaner. None of the above worked.

I did similar to muddog 321. I used blue painters tape and masked off the paint and glass. Then I took a scotch brite pad and mixed up some of my Gold class car wash to dip the pad in and went to scrubbing. When you think your done dry the rubber off and you will see the spots you missed. Hit those a second time and check it again. When your satisfied with the result put your favorite UV protectant on it. I used 303 and it lasted a couple years before it slowly started to come back. If my dumb ass would have regularly reapplied the 303 it would probably still look good today.

Same here on my 2015 , I have tried everything and have pretty much come to the conclusion it’s just cheap rubber. It’s almost like there’s some kind of fungus growing in the rubber. After cleaning the best I could I tried using some pool silicone paste on it to keep it lubed and seal up the deteriorating rubber and it seems to have slowed it down a bit.

As long as you replace the removed oils with something. It’s rubber so it needs oils to stay in good condition.
