Sadly the gold wing was toast I hope the original owner of the motorcycle had good insurance on it because the bastard who stole it obviously does not. Motorcycle thief and his passenger got some broken bones and a head injury for not wearing gear or a helmet.

I was only posting up to show that a full bumper is better for protection lol. I know that bumper isn't going to protect my truck in a crash, I got it to mount a winch and lightbar.

Hit a Corolla at a stop light the other day. The light turned green and I let off the brake and rolled forward. I didn’t notice that the car in front had stopped again before it was too late.

Guy decided to take the exit from the left lane while going significantly faster then I was. I had to hold my lane because there was a car next to me.
Other guy claimed I changed lanes into him, My insurance put him at 100% liable, his insurance (Mapfre) said it was 50/50 and give me 50% of the damage. I put up a fight and they payed out 100% under some "customer satisfaction" BS, but kept their 50/50 ruling.
There is a good chance that car was totaled, that plate was registered to another car three months after the accident.
The bumper took pretty much everything on the corner like a champ. Some scuffs and scratches on the fender and tire.

Definitely want to add front/rear dash cams. Based on my research to date, it looks like the VIOFO A129Pro is probably the best value per $$ at present.

The higher-end 4K-sensor cams have more or less solved the "capture license plate number" function for daylight hours, but nightime is another story, a far more challenging environment.

Maybe in another 3-5 years they will figure out an advanced IR-illuminated dash cam with post-processing capabilities that can extract license plate numbers even from headlight glare of oncoming traffic in full darkness.

I currently have Rexing in the truck, which do have decent quality video (three years old now.) But the app is a complete dumpster fire. I actually had it connect to the phone one time. Rexing is aware the app sucks, but apparently not interested in fixing it.

I have a Viofo 129 Duo. I wouldn't have gotten it settled this way if I didn't have the evidence.

2015 with 3 inch OME HD lift & RCI skids w/brute force fab plate bumpers. So I got rear ended by a drunk in an F250 HD where he hit me at a long line stop light, drove my truck into 4 other SUV/cars. I didn't see it coming but guess he was going solid 40 mph since was coming from a 45 mph zone down to 35. I don't get in lots of wrecks but I will tell you it was a hard hit, launched my truck rear into the air into a jeep grand cherokee who hit 4 other cars. The impact hurt my mid back something fierce instantly and for 6 weeks and the rear & instataneous front impact was like being blindly thrown into a washing machine on high blindfolded. The brute force fab front plate bumper with Line X was installed Feb and the brute force plate high clearance rear with LineX just a week before. My truck rear frame is bent and likley bent slight frame front & rear since the accident now front end pulls good to right even after realignment and it was driving straight before the accident. I'm positive the whole front end would have been heavily damaged to the radiator & not drivable with still maybe a bent front end pulling if not for the steel bumper up front. The rear bumper was crushed inwards slightly and downward, the camper shell shifted 1 inch to rear and the rear bumper & topper likely kept the rear bed from creasing. I have been driving the truck for 5 months and will be taking it in soon for other guys insurance to repair and takes 2 months to make new steel bumpers. Short story, these bumpers, especially the front saved a lot on damage and allowed me to drive away but have no doubts that steel bumpers on front & back will protect you truck but will transfer a lot more energy in a crash to the occupants. I thought for sure airbags would have gone off but none did. My truck bed tailgate has bigger gaps at top that bottom, my front grille is off center & front hood slight gap changes and some other things bent not visible in these pics including frame but I'm glad I had them still. pics are of the f250, my rear, the jeep I hit into 4 other cars, then my front after crash.

Sorry to hear. I wouldn't be surprised if the trick is totaled by insurance. Start getting ready for a value fight with insurance.

Sorry to hear, and, thanks for sharing your pics / experience here. Definitely good to keep in mind the trade-offs between increased vehicle body & front-end protection vs. more transfer of impact energy to vehicle occupants under some circumstances. Makes sense that a stiffer overall structure is going to crush & deform less but accelerate & move more for a given crash impact force.

One week ago I bought a 2021 TRD Pro salvage vehicle on a Copart auction. It had damage front and rear. I knew there were some parts in the bed but the photos didn't let me see the details. From the photos it looked like the front clip and bumper were gone as was the rear bumper. The bed was raised a little on one side indicating frame damage, likely leading to the salvage designation. Well, I rolled the dice.

When it arrived I discovered a front BodyArmor bumper with a bull bar and a similar plate steel rear bumper. Both barely had a scratch. Yes the front plastic was gone and someone nicked the OEM LED headlights. One rear frame rail was one inch higher than the other at the bumper. Without these plate bumpers I'm sure it would have been much worse. I've measured the frame and it is still square and the alignment is fine A bit of cold pulling should even out the rear frame rails. Otherwise this looks like a new truck. 50k miles, 2021 TRD Pro, with premium bumpers, $26k all in. I think I got lucky.

Interesting! Hope you'll share how the attempt at restoration goes. Maybe combination of the right kinds of hydraulic pullers, clamps, chain hoists and leverage can pull that frame back into alignment.

I'm making good progress with the repairs. The frame doesn't have any wrinkles, just one rail 1" higher than the other at the bumper. Side to side and diagonal measurements are fine. One step on the OEM predator steps was damaged so I'm looking for sliders. Also planning to upgrade the tires to 265/75/16. The BA front bumper is an absolute unit. The only scratch was on the shackle.
