Looking to establish contact (couldn't find a phone number) for FBC Harness Solutions? I have Raptor grille lights and accent LED lights as part of a headlight assembly, I'd Iike to power via the DLR indent?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, 2nd Gen DRL feed is presumably compatible with the 3rd gen sr harnesses. I have one for grille lights and a slightly different one for dd ss3 backlight. I assume you’re grille light territory. I’ll add a link via 2nd reply.

Hey, thx for the quick reply!

I'm in completely new ground so I can't be sure what I need (not the most helpful right)?

A year or so ago I bought a Raptor grille - for the look and not the lights, and made only a half-hearted attempt to hook up said lights.

I bought the attached headlight assembly because I couldn't remove the scratches in the existing lense. The new assembly comes with OEM holes for headlights, DRL, and turn signal. It also comes with two pair of wires for LED "headlight rings" and four pairs of wires for "accent" LED lights.

There was 0.00% instructions with the aftermarket headlight assemblies other than to suggest you tap into the DRL for the LEDs?

So, I went looking for a DRL fuse in my manual, and under the hood, - nada. I called Toyota National CS and my local dealer - nada. I pulled all the Type A fuses under the hood with the DRL on and, - nope. Geez, the turn signal lever (as you noted) does a lot but where, or what the DRL plumbs through is a mystery to me - though likely it's not a dedicated fuse?

Which all led me back to TW where I saw a pucture of a harness connection, and I believe a Green wire ID'd as the DRL, and reference to your company.

So, and ideally but not an absolute, I'd like a process as simple as turning the inside turn signal "wheel" to its first indent (DRL ON) to energize my newfound bling?

    Thx, Mike

First, I’d recommend replacing your headlights with OEM. I do not build for any aftermarket headlights. I follow this guide myself:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-h4-not-led-or-hid.398066/#post-11031383

    ETA: fixed link above.

For the grille lights or if you decide to DIY any halo stuff, provided your amber turn signals have DRL behavior, the item linked above may work. It is primarily intended for 3rd Gen, but the connectors should match 2nd Gen. You would want to visually confirm that on your truck.

I believe the ECU controls the signal for combined DRL and Turn so the only other way to capture the clean DRL indicator from the stalk is inside the cab where it is a ground switched lead. So the it would need a relay to turn that into a positive signal.

The flashing with turn can be “suppressed” by summing the L and R sides with diodes along with summing the parking light signal. That’s what the harness does. It will still flash with hazards if parking lights are not on. We mostly consider that “ok” behavior for now since it’s much more work to not flash in that mode and hazards are meant to be noticed.
