Hello i was looking on Amazon and found a gallon of the oil number that should be used, but when i went to next page it says its used for marine. Is this still ok to use? Also i keep hearing crush washers i should be replacing. I see them in packs of 3. do i just need 3 or 6? Very new b here and first time going to do this. I seen some people using squeeze bottles. should i just get the gallon and a pump? Any pointers? One guy in video had the rear jacked up abit. Is this ok to do with it not jacked? just never felt comfortable under vehicles jacked up. How many miles do you usually change yours? I was reading 60k.
I am also seeing i should possibly change transmission fluid, brake fluid and power steering fluid. I have 72k miles on the 2015. I was going to take the truck in to have those changed. Just doing the diff oil to try and save some money. Just want to make sure i have the right oil. Will that gallon be ok?
    any help greatly appreciated.

Drop (remove) the spare tire. it will give you plenty of room to get to the rear axle.

*Edit, this for the 4x4 maybe Pre-runner as well, I see you have a 2015 SE, not sure what that is?

    For the front and rear:
    Redline 75W85

    Front
    1.6 qt
    Drain 48ft/lbs
    Fill 29ft/lbs

    Rear
    3.1 qt
    Drain 36 ft/lbs
    Fill 36 ft/lbs

This is what I order to cover everything.

    For the transfer case:
    Redline 75W90

    1.1 qt 75-90
    Drain 27 ft/lbs
    Fill 27 ft/lbs

What I order to cover everything.

    Washers, 6 total.
Large copper is for front drain
and the two identical ones are for the transfer case, the other three go to front fill and rear, drain and fill.

Do yourself a favor and order the Lexus front diff drain nut-end bolt, our Tacomas have
hex-end bolts in the front diff and the drain plug one strips all day every day, you can do the hex fill plug if you’d like, lesser torque spec so it’s not known for stripping, I replaced both. Definitely replace the drain, imo.

    Front drain bolt.

It’s only the Front diff you need to worry about as the transfer case and rear diff have nut-style bolts.

So yea, I would order both of the Lexus nut-style bolts (just 2 bolts) I sent you for the front diff drain and fill. Just make sure you identify which is which, see part numbers I included, when you replace, as the drain bolt covers a larger surface area.

Also, always open the full plug first! If for some reason you drain out the fluid but can’t get the fill plug open, for whatever reason, you’re now in a tight spot.

Also do you have a 4x4?

Then here you go my friend.

Some figures may be different, as our manual states 75W85 for front and rear diff but the form I sent you lists 75W90 across the board for front, rear and transfer case, which is fine, as 75W90 is more accessible, stores sells it and works perfectly well in our trucks too, but I’m OCD about following the manual, so for me it’s 75W85 for the front and rear.

I’ve heard people say rear mech LSD (if you have it) prefers Dino oil

that being said kind of stopped caring
Got synthetic LSD oil. Put it in. Twice. It has the additive already. Less hassle than getting a tube of additive separate.

rest of the diffs I put whatever popped up on the Amsoil catalog since that’s what I used at the time. May try something different next time.
Or whatever places recommend switching to if I regear.
Rear end currently has BG syn LSD 75w140.

    Whoever said get Lexus plugs
I may have Metalnerd or OE magnetic drain
But those look like a good idea for tool kit simplicity of operating with a socket and not hex bit.

Run what type oil you want Dino or Synthetic.

    Redline is good oil.
