Got an offer for a $300 check from Toyota

Received a letter today from Toyota Motor Corp. Stated my SR5 should have came with more blacked out than it did. It offered me $300 if I signed and dated it and sent it back. Not "we f'ed up here's $300, but jump through this hoop and $300". I got news for TMC, I'm going to jump through that hoop.

 

So sign and date is about 30 seconds if you need to dig for a pen.
Drop in the mail on your way to work is maybe another 30 seconds out of your way?
$300 per minute or $18,000 per hour. Yeah, screw that, I'd toss it in the garbage.

 

Don't make your life complicated. Just sign it and get your $300 and just move on.

 

I don’t get some people. Literally throwing money away. Toyota actually told you that you should have gotten x item with your vehicle and you didn’t so they offer you $300 but that alone isn’t good enough?

SMH. To each their own I suppose.

 

What did they miss on the black out package that yours didn't get? Anyway to take the 3 bills and then black it out yourself?

300??? More like they owe 3000? For as many hours I have spent at the dealer
Total of at least 30 to 60 hours correct f'ing their mistakes.
By saying it's an offer, means it's negotiable.

Confused by what you're saying here. You ARE going to jump through the hoop by signing, sending back, and waiting for an actual check? Or insulted by the letter and steps and will not be signing and returning?

What didn't the truck come with that it was supposed to?

 

At least for f's sake. I make 125$ an hour doing repair work. 25 × 60 = 7500 that I technically have missed out on sitting in their waiting area.

My point was that instead of just sending a check for $300 they sent a letter with a hoop to jump through, hoping most wouldn't read the letter/or would, given their busy life, forget about it. Sooo, we aren't out $300.

 

I dunno what you guys are reading, but I picked up on some sarcasm and feigned annoyance in the original post. OP stated at the end that they were going to take Toyota up on the offer.

I think the term is disgruntled. That said, obviously people have complained, to the point TMC felt the need to address it. And did so in a way to minimize the damage. The "a fool and their money are soon parted" approach so to speak.

 

Seems funny Toyota is concerned about not enough blacked out but is unconcerned about paint flaking off (according to what I have been reading on TW).

 

Don't even go there on that.
