    Good Morning :hattip:

A little bit smokey/hazy this morning.

29 years ago today I started working at Mercury Marine. Now I'm one of old guys that the younger generation wants to retire. They have to wait.

Thoughts and prayers for your wife.

Thank all of you, it's been a rough couple weeks.

Started out thinking she had food poisoning over a weekend. Took her to regular doctor on a Monday, doctor recommended we go to the local ER for more intense treatment. ER Doctors identified she had a very serious kidney/blood infection, and admitted her to the hospital. She was there for several days, on heavy IV antibiotics. They eventually discharged her. Continued feeling very weak for few more days. Had a follow up with the Infectious Disease specialist who treated her in the hospital. ID specialist called us at home 8:30 PM to say "your hemoglobin is critically low, you likely have internal bleeding, get back to the hospital immediately, I have already admitted you."

That was last week. They found she had a bleeding ulcer, and several small abscesses on one kidney. On top of the infection. They gave her 2 units of blood, and meds to address the ulcer. The next day she felt much better and stronger, due to the blood transfusion. They had been keeping her for continued monitoring, so they didn't send her home prematurely, like last time. They are waiting on one last blood culture (takes 3 days to fully develop) this morning to determine if they feel confident all is under control enough to discharge her. She will need to return to hospital every day for outpatient IV antibiotic treatment for the next 3-4 weeks once she is discharged.

So, hopefully she will be coming home today!

Good morning. I told the grandson last night that he has about 3 weeks to the start of school. He is going to 9th grade. There is a new charter school in the area (this will be their 2nd year in existence) and he wants to give it a try since he's not interested in going to college. There, he can get certificates in various areas that could help him get into the workplace and hopefully make a decent living. We will see how things go.

My oldest wasted two years at college ... ended up going thru a vo-tech to get computer certifications ... this was about 2008-09 ... he's been gainfully employed and makes a decent living ever since.

As of now, he is looking to get into their transportation and logistics program. The opportunity for a CDL license, and certificates for using a forklift and warehouse management, along with one for using a drone are options. he did think about the computer program but changed his mind.

Do what he's interested in ... my oldest was always a gamer computer geek. It worked out. Best of luck to him.
