Ran into a bit of a problem, mostly self inflicted. I got my spindles gusseted. This causes them to sit lower on the threads. The bottom threads got stripped out when I first installed. So I have a cheap used UCA temporarily in its place.

After a closer inspection it seems the ball joint is crooked. Not 100% sure if that was just a product of the spindle removal/instal, or if I dislodged it somehow when wheeling.

The one that is still installed doesn't have enough threads in my opinion. The threads have a spot for a cotter pin, but it's covered up by the nut since it now sits lower.

I will upload pics of these details. I think they are still good bang for the buck, especially light off roading.

I may swap both ball joints for something with longer threads so I can cotter pin it again. Especially since the boot came off the one with the stripped end.

I haven't heard back on the cover.

Never heard back from the company on either the replacement ball joint or the cover that fell off. Threw them in the trash and got tubular icons with the delta joint. When I go on wheeling trips it can be thousands of miles. So I wasn't interested in using uniball because of the higher maintenance. Hence the interest in these ones with the ball joint.

The icons are softer for road vibrations because I got the ones with the poly bushings instead of heim joints.

I had just driven through Canada and the road salt probably wasn't doing the send it suspension's heim joints any favors. Plus the missing cover meant the ball joint was sitting in salt water that pooled on top.

I probably put 30k miles on the send it suspension, so not a total waste, but I wouldn't buy again. They are definitely lighter than the icon uca. My ideal setup would probably be aluminum uca with ball/delta joint and poly bushings. All the aluminum ones I am aware of have heim joints.

How are the tubular icons with the delta joint doing in the salt weather?
