    I’m 6’1” little over 200lbs
Will I fit in it ok?I haven’t test drove one yet,I live a hour away from a dealership
Will it drive smooth on highway?
I’ve never had a off road truck,so I’m asking before I even go test drive
I have a 2021 Ford ranger right now, don’t like the ecoboost or 10 speed transmission

6’4 215 with sunroof and I have no issues with comfort. Only issue which isn’t one is when I look to see what’s out my driver window I look directly into the B pillar. But I do that on most cars so I’m used to it.

There is nothing dramatically “off-road” about any stock Tacoma. It will drive as well or better than any pickup truck with a solid axle leaf spring rear suspension and an independent front suspension. Don’t read too much into the marketing.

I think you might be asking the wrong questions about a pickup truck.

For sure, test ride one. Only you can decide how well it fits for you.

Tacoma people love the Tacoma for what it is. Your ranger is most likely, better on fuel, more comfortable, more powerful, better in every capacity, and more refined. I love my Tacoma and wouldn't trade it for anything. Just like jeeps. They are pretty terrible but people love them! So go test drive one to see what you think. They are great trucks but not for everyone.

I'm 6.1, 200. Head room and sideways room is fine. Legroom fine. You'll see threads on here about the seats being uncomfortable. That's hard to pickup in a 20 min test drive. I bought Desert Does It seat jackers for driver's seat ($100) and it's a lot better. Wouldn't trade my taco for anything. Had a ram 1500 and power steering crapped out at 85k miles.

What don’t you like about the Ford?
The Tacoma’s 3.5 likes to be revved up and the transmission likes to upshift, sometimes to the detriment of acceleration. I like mine, but it is a complaint of many. That’s just where we’re at today, the big GOV is regulating us to that point.

Another thing to consider, since you are tall; the moonroof takes up a couple of inches of headroom.

Maybe because I've been in half tons the last 20 years, but I find my Tacoma cramped. Fortunately most of my seat time is under an hour. I'm 5' 8" and lean.

For longer trips I actually find my motorcycle more comfortable.

I'm 5'10" and a large guy and I find the seats comfortable. That said, on long drives I find that unless I get out and stretch my legs every 3 hours or so it gets uncomfortable. That may be a function of the fact that I'm old and fat more than the truck lol. I have the sport and even with the bit stiffer suspension I think it rides fine, remembering that it's a truck after all.

6’4 230 no issues. But then I’m used to skid seats on a Blackhawk or the so called seats in a Hummer.

I'm close to those dimensions - no issues at all...

And I was surprised at how comfy it is on long trips... It is not a Land Cruiser, but it does quite well.

Generically, I'd expect an off road suspension to be more compliant that a street truck, or a truck meant to carry a big payload.

Get rid of the ranger and get the last of the current generation Tacoma! All you gotta do is a get it tuned and it drives perfectly

I have a 2021 OR that I bought new. At 6’ and no sunroof I have no headroom issues.

I can’t see the Taco being any more cramped than your Ranger. As others have said, the Taco is no 1/2 ton and cab space is allot tighter.

On gear hunting and the factory tune, some have problems and others don’t. Mine had problems which were resolved with an aftermarket tune. With the tune my truck feels very refined when compared to factory.

Beware the Taco does not have much low end torque. It makes good power getting past 2,300 rpm or so, but under that there’s not much torque and it’s especially noticeable in the overdrive gears (5-6).

If I had to do it over I would probably try a F150 with the 3.5L, but I do like the Taco and plan to own it for a long time.

Every ass is different. I am 6'4" 270lb. I fit. You could be 5'9" 150lb and not be comfortable. Everyone is different.

It's an SR5 with wheel and tire package. maybe running boards. TSS Off road just has black wheels with maybe Nitto Terra grapplers G2's

    TSS - Toyota Sport Series

And adds $0 to the value of the truck for insurance payout if it gets totaled. I unfortunately found that out personally. The insurance company couldn't even figure out what TSS offroad was and once I actually proved to them it was a dealer package they still said it didn't improve the value.

OP I would recommend against paying the extra money for this package. I definitely recommend sitting in a Tacoma (maybe you can find one locally) before committing. I love mine but the interior isn't huge.
