Well some random pipe got thrown from a vehicle driving on the shoulder and ended up hitting my Taco. Got estimated 2500$ for PDR, I think I might just embrace it.‍♂️71275411716__0E5CCD93-86C7-4302-AA02-220DD3171ADB.jpg71275554306__90A7DA3E-CDF0-4C22-8F33-7C316FB3FA85.jpg

How many quotes did you get? You'd be surprised by the differences in shops sometimes.

A ladder fell on the hood of my mazda. Quotes ranged from $3200 for a bondo+paint to $1500 for full hood replace with 3 year warranty. I checked with five reputable shops, and it was a wide range.

im not a pdr pro but recently had some pdr done for several dents. seems like $2500 for that is WAY too high. one of my dents looked like yours on the passenger door, mine was in a harder spot too on the curvature of the roof. the pdr tech couldnt get behind it but still made it look new. the other three dents were less rough, sticks banging on my truck from offroading. total was $400. there must be a reason why they are charging so much on yours that maybe im too dumb to know about.

I had a log flip up and put some nice dents into my passenger door while on some backroads. Somebody was driving way to fast in the opposite direction and I had to take the ditch to avoid him hitting me head on. Of course I rand over about a 4 inch log that snapped and went into the door. I wasn’t happy as it was the first dent or ding on the truck, I had planned to get it fixed…now it’s just a story and the sting has worn on over time.

My advice is to see if it bothers you in a couple days-weeks. If it’s still really bothering you, get it fixed. If not, then just embrace it!!!

    PM me a reference please!

People definitely need to stay away from landscaping trucks. I was following one once as they merged onto a freeway and noticed their trenching shovel (narrow long blade) start spinning from the wind in its vertical pvc pipe holder. The spinning sped up as the truck accelerated and finally the shovel took off like a helicopter from the holder and went high up in the air. Luckily it was high enough that I passed below it before it landed behind me to be run over by the following car. It must’ve done some damage to their car’s radiator or something as they pulled over shortly afterwards.

The dent on my truck that I want to get a PDR estimate for is like OP’s on the passenger side front fender. It was from one of the times we were off roading and I didn’t listen to my wife. I guess I should’ve, as she said “look out for that big hole”, and I said “what hole?” Then I found out…:annoyed:

These PDR guys are true magicians. I watched my guy work for a bit and what they do is super cool.

on a 2 yo truck? Nah, I'd get it fixed properly.

BTW: this looks like it ran across the pinch weld (if that is what it is called; where the door skin wraps around the frame) and has metal showing

Why wouldn't your insurance cover this? Unless your deductible is $2500.

Dents are one thing, but good lord touchup the paint. Slap something on, anything. Just don't let it rust.

Before: this and a 2-3 small dents cost $300 ~2019 pre pandemic.

After. Guy said he didn’t want to go farther because the paint was moving.

I've posted this on other threads, but I did some damage to my fender years ago. I sanded it down and used some bed liner spray and then knocked down the texture with 220 sandpaper. You still can't see a difference.

Just a bunch of old crap
Probably only has liability coverage. Sure, it's cheaper. But, here we are now.
