OP you are on the right path. If you wiil use your truck off road then sliders are a good call. Like others have said it’s based on your planned uses. I removed my predator steps right away and gave em to a neighbor. As to why some lift and run the stock steps, I don’t know, everyone is different. Could be they don’t wheel or like a previous post, they wheel in country that doesn’t justify the need or expense. 8D67F193-A54B-47C9-9AEC-C1052BF7523B.jpg

OK . . . . . but really not thinking that is a good move IMHO - I can't really speak to the gas mileage because after adding sliders, steel skid plate and heavy KO2s my MPG dropped ~ 2 to 4 mpg so not really sure how much the sliders contributed to that. It is interesting though after a run on the trails the mpg can be around 18mpg but if I am running on the hard ball and Interstate it gets up to 20mpg or so. But yeah, when I first got her stock it was in the 22.x readings. My Taco is for fun so . . . mpg is part of the price I pay for my new hobby, when I needed a commuter vehicle I went with a Honda CR-Z hybrid - it was fun in it's way, cheap (as in inexpensive to operate), reliable as hell and really really good MPG - like 32 - 34mpg.
