I removed the end caps from my camper shell's Yakima rails in order to slide the T bolts in for my Victory rack. Now that it's on, should I reinstall the end caps for the rails? If I don't, the hole will need to be caulked, not to mention it looks worse (not just in terms of unfinished, but the paint peeled a bit under the cap....like they were added too fresh after the new paint job).

But I'm worried the caps might hold too much water in the channel and rust some of the hardware out.

What does everyone else do? Reinstall end caps or leave them off?
