    Alright, update time.

It took awhile, but 4wp needed approval from Method, or at least some type of authorization so that 4wp didn't end up on the "hook" for the refund. Method seemed to drag their feet.

Done now, full refund. Tires now mounted to stock rims and she drives smooth as she did with the winters on those rims. Litmus test proves it was the Method Wheels, all 8 of them lol.

So, can't say enough good things about my local 4wp store. The guys were helpful and bent over backwards to get this issue resolved.

Now Method. When it became apparent the wheels were the issue I reached out via their website and sent them a message. I never received a reply. Recently when 4wp was having issues getting the authorization I reached out to a specific individual at Method whose email was provided to me. I never received a reply. I know they have a good Rep in the industry but there is a 0% chance they'll see another $0.01 of my money. Not because I got 8 faulty wheels but because of a complete lack of customer service. Unacceptable in my opinion. I'm fairly convinced at this point they don't think it's an issue with the wheels, and it seems they were incredibly reluctant to send a second set and ultimately a refund. I'll never know what happens behind the scenes but I sure hope Method mounts these 8 duds up to a 2020 Tacoma and sees for themselves.

Too late now, but I experienced the same issue with 1 method wheel. I had my methods installed with less than 40 miles on my taco and America’s Tire could never get my tires to balance. They tried four times, even switched from Duratracs to KO2s due to this. The KO2s were better, but I’m picky and was sick of the shake at freeway speeds. I even thought driveline vibes since I’m lifted a bit. Finally, after thinking my local America’s was incompetent, I took my Tacoma to a mom and pop that specializes in wheel repair to have them give a rebalance a try. Wheel #3 on the balancer was oscillating on the balancer. There it was!

My experience with Method was awesome! I spoke with Method who directed me back to America’s, since the mom and pop was not an authorized retailer. America’s spoke with Method, confirmed the bad wheel and Method had a brand new wheel to America’s in 2 days! It gets better! The new wheel they sent had a slight variation from the 3 good wheels. I called Method back, sent them photos confirming the difference and Method sent me 3 new wheels. My experience with Method was fantastic! The next set of wheels I buy will absolutely be Methods.

That’s been the general consensus I’ve read and part of the reason I chose Method in the first place. Not sure why they ghosted me, I doubt taking my money elsewhere is going to hurt their bottom line lol.

Funny though, the correspondence between 4WP and Method seemed pretty clear. Method claiming they’ve never seen the issue before, but your experience contradicts their claim.

I suspect you were dealing with a disgruntled/incompetent employee or something of that nature. The way you described dealing with Method was so opposite everything I’ve ever heard or seen.

My error was not picking up the phone. I should have called them directly. Still, no response from either the generic email address or a representative I reached out to directly? Even if the response is “please keep dealing with your local retailer to resolve” I think my issue at the very least deserved a direct response.

At this point I’m more curious what their reaction will be when they hopefully test these wheels upon their return. I wish I could be there for that.

Sorry for your bad experience, but thanks for the information. I'm currently looking for a new set of rims for my 2021 Tacoma and this information may help me narrow my search a little more.

This thread is a couple years old but I have Methods MR312s on my truck and my driver side came off as I exit the freeway. Snapped all the bolts and what not. Been trying to figure out WTH and now thinking maybe it’s a Method issue! I noticed my wheels sit on the bolts weird too. There is definitely a little bit of a gap and they aren’t sitting right!

Crap man, that’s scary. Did you happen to have any work done recently before wheel came off? Seen this happen with over-torqued lugs.
Also, I just put some MR701 Methods on. They ride fine, but going back into the garage to inspect how they are seated :D
