I’m not entirely sure what’s going on here. These spots showed up in an area where I had a small dent repaired. I initially thought that this was sling from tire dressing, but it doesn’t wipe off. I tried alcohol but it did nothing. The spots did not show up on the the other side that was not repaired, but did have tire sling. Any chance that this is related to the repair? Or did I happen to pick up something from the road?

Did you drive over any recently paved asphalt?

I once followed a waste oil tanker for miles on this windy 2 lane road. My truck was cover with brown spots that were like tree sap to remove. I'm going to say the hard glass like ceramic coating that my truck had really saved the trucks finish, I was able to buff them out.

Get yourself an eraser wheel and try hitting the spots with it.
It's definitely taken some things off my truck I didn't expect, hardened tree sap, sticker residue, all stuff that was seemingly baked into the clear coat.
For the price, can't hurt, and they work on all kinds of stuff without damage to your paint or clear.

That is tire shine that was came off the tire as you drove off. Happened several times to my 2017 Tacoma until I finally figured it out. They are small, brownish splash marks….right? They came off with my Orbital Buffer and Rubbing Compound, polish then wax. It took a lot of work to get them off.

environmental debris, rail dust, etc. Try WD40 to get it off, then be sure to give it a wash and reapply sealant/wax
