What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

New shoes and drums and finally got around to replacing the last u-joint that I did not get to before ..... but only after it seized.

 

Last night it was new OEM front rotors and beefed up brakes brake pads and fresh brake fluid

 

This is my second one. I missed my tan one almost immediately.

 

I wish Toyota still made a RC.

 

Made a new antenna for the ham radio.
Mounts to the roof rack of the camper, collapses quickly into three 5' sections. Gives my mobile radio a range up to 50 miles, 100% solar powered.

 

Got her tuned. KDMax 10 with sport throttle. Drive home was definitely more fun than the drive there. Flashed it first with normal throttle, but after a test drive decided on sport. In for a dime, in for a dollar. Thanks so much @Socalbasketcase. Tom was an absolute pleasure to work with, and i feel like I made a new friend. 10/10 would recommend.

 

Interesting, might have to save this and see how they look in the future.

 

Colby, it was sure a lot of fun bringing you into the KDMAX family! A lot of laughs were had.

I am here to support you and all of your future adventures. You were an absolute pleasure to work with and becoming friends is just icing on the cake to something I already love doing.

Is there a tuner in San Diego?

This is something I’ve always wondered myself.

 

I keep a stocked trauma kit, a booboo kit, flares, two high lumen lights and a spare cell per light, an axe, a shovel, utility gloves, a couple sets of zip cuffs, ABC fire extinguisher, CB, Fox OC, spare fixed blade (mora bushcraft right now), a load of other smaller things like pens, manipulation tools, glass breakers, etc. I also keep a full set of sockets, wrenches, and a tow strap (that I need to replace because we tore it up clearing cedar trees at camp this past week - also why it's taken me a bit to respond) - food and water packets in the storage bins in the back, a vacuum sealed wool blanket, never know when you're stuck overnight in your vehicle. So really, just like everyone else with a more pointed decision of carrying things to help someone else in the event I come upon a scene with someone in need. I don't have triangles or anything, but if I were looking right now, I might buy a bag of those LED road flares.

Why would you ever carry something unloaded, or with an empty chamber. -- loaded, yes, our state went Constitutional carry awhile back as well, so everyone else has the same opportunities. I only keep my CHL up to date to ensure reciprocity in other states.

 

Used it to haul some fence posts out to the property. 3000lbs in the trailer then did 2 trips with 600lbs in the bed without the trailer.

 

Needs some more details on this, Very cool.

 

Started installing the 12v solutions remote start kit on my 07 yesterday but got held up because the door lock harness did not fit.



Below is a picture of the stock plug and the plug from the kit. Was wondering if anyone with this kit ran into this issue?

 

I'm sure your truck is nice but I was blinded by the incredible work shop.

 

Dual band Slim Jim antenna on PVC post. Basic and cheap. I'll post more in the radio section.

 

Replaced the clutch master cylinder with the metal Asin one...
Bastard of a process. Thankfully I found the "better bleed the slave too" videos.
Threading the hard line is such a pain. Watching for drips as I have no idea if it's cross threaded or just that hard to tighten.
Also a bit if advice.. remember to put the clutch override switch bracket in place before you completely install the new clutch master cylinder. Otherwise you have to undo all the bolts again and try to slip it in there.
Installed it in the baking sun. Beach umbrella ftw
