i heard a light rattle kind of noise from front driver tire area. everything seemed tight, by hand anyway. then i checked top nut on shock. i could spin the big washer by hand. is that normal. the other side i couldnt. i tightened it some to about 50ft lbs (cant get torque wrench in there so ???) couldnt tell if noise was gone this morn cuz it was raining and had windows shut.

Never saw the strut's center nut so loose that you're able to spin the retaining washer. Makes you wonder what else is loose. Just sock it down till tight.

if a washer is spinning that means the nut isnt doing its job. cant be more basic then this.
