Had a Rav4 that received front end bumper damage at the dealership... the dealer told me I would have to take them to court. I was side swiped a day later by a young driver wiping out the damage, but never went back to the dealership and either did my own repairs or used a small local independent.

Bought my Tacoma about 50 miles from home in 2022 with no markups on MSRP. I've taken it back for the scheduled Toyota Care without issue. Last trip when rotating the tires, the alignment tech noticed what he thought was a little abnormal wear. I had not noticed anything abnormal. They recommended a $110 alignment and told me no charge if the alignment was good.

Got done, alignment was needed per the before and after alignment sheet, but no charge because the tech did not feel it was originally torqued correctly at the factory and said it would be a warranty charge. While waiting for service, I've witnessed them looking over a couple of cars and telling the customer that this-that noise is normal and not taking any money.

The distance is a hassle, but the new dealer has earned my business.

I figured American flags would give you an extra 17 hp and 76 lb-ft of torque.

Yeah there are some good dealerships around. I experienced this when I owned a Dodge. The local dealership was horrible and couldn’t fix my truck, they had it for roughly 2 months on and off over an 8 month period. When I called corporate to get some help as the dealership I was going through resorted to running jumper wires from my transfer case to the battery directly instead of fixing a harness, they said about 35 miles away was the top rated dodge service department on the west coast. I took my truck there and they had the problem diagnosed in 45 minutes and fixed in 2 hours. Some places are great and some are a bunch of hacks. It’s very dependent on the management I believe.

@Kefka if your cap is similar dont spend extra for the short mounts. you can slide the stiffining corner brackets over slightly and run em through the middle of the mounting brackets. IMG_5706.jpg

I feel like I will probably be the same in 5 years. Close to 1 years old and just hit 2K miles.

We have the electric adjustable driver's seat so I'm pretty comfy, but the wife complained about the passenger seat being uncomfortable day one. I installed the front Seat Jackers and she said it was worse. So I took them out and installed the rear Seat Jackers and she's über happy with how it sits now. Guess you can't tell until you try 'em. Now I have a front set collecting dust.

Let us know how it goes!

I think the verdict is that short people need rear seat jackets and tall people need front seat jackets.

My Taco took me to a great camping spot where I will spend the week doing the very basics: eat, sleep and read.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
My first mod on my new truck! (if you exclude peeling the stickers off the sun visors).

Spotter mirrors arrived today. It's going to take a little time to get used to having a convex mirror again, since I haven't had them since I crashed Tacoma #1 five years ago, but after running some errands today, I'm enjoying them.

    Pros:
    - They look sharp. I looked all over town for the stick on kind, but they all seemed to be poorly constructed, and looked cheap on the truck. The Spotter Mirror looks like it belongs.

    - Easy to install. It's a little nerve wracking at first, because it feels like you're going to break the factory mirror when you're removing it, but the new one just snaps right in, and the second one is a breeze.

    - The BSM light is actually brighter than the one on the factory mirror. Or perhaps it's just bigger. Regardless, it's easier to see in the daytime. I hope it's not too bright at night.

    Cons:
    - My biggest complaint is that it has a mild vibration on the driver-side mirror at highway speeds. The factory mirror has a couple metal tabs that I feel were designed to prevent vibration (see the last picture), but they're absent on the Spotter Mirror. Seems like a pretty big oversight for such an expensive mirror, but I don't think it's a deal breaker.

    - They only offer one shipping option, which is UPS. This is probably not a problem for American customers, but if you're shipping to Canada :canada:, UPS charges exorbitant "brokerage fees", on top of duty & taxes. FedEx, and the USPS rarely charge duty and taxes, let alone brokerage fees, so just be aware if you're shipping it to the Great White North. There's nothing like waking up to a notification for an additional $90 in fees on an already expensive product.

    - The BSM light could be a little closer to the edge, to be a little less intrusive.

    - The mirror sits out a little bit further than the factory mirror, so it would be nice to have the trim around the glass to protect the edges a bit, and give it a more polished finish.

    - It could probably do without the heated mirror logo. Either you live in a warm climate, and don't use that feature, or you live in a cold climate, and don't need to be reminded that it's there.

Overall, I'm quite happy with it. Seems like a sturdy, and well built product.
