In the process of doing to some restoration on my truck. One of th items that needs to be replaced is the tailgate. That seems easy enough to find but i cant find the access cover. Any leads or options? Mine is bent and coated with bedliner. When the new bed (new to me, clean and rust free) arrives i'm going to apply raptor liner.

That's how I found the replacement truck bed which unfortunately they had already sold the tailgate off of. And is also currently lost with the freight company.
There are multiple options for aftermarket tailgates but none of them come with the access cover. I found a couple of access covers and junk yards and on eBay but they are in as bad shape as the one I have. Have tempted to just make one at work out of 18 gauge. Thinking flat with maybe a 2 mm bend all the way around.

Nothing special about an OEM one if you are thinking of making one yourself. It's basically as wimpy as a license plate
