    Hey all,

I'm getting two errors, "Smart entry and start system" and "brake override malfunction" in my 2017 double cab.

Last night I installed the meso 7 switch lower and moved the window switch to it.

I installed a remote start on the taco many years ago and it's been working fine.

When I removed the center console, I only remember 1 connector not connected to anything, but when I reinstalled everything there were two. I've double checked all my connections and can't find anything I've missed so I'm assuming I just didn't see the other when I removed it.

Is it possible that extending the wires to move the rear window switch could make the system spaz out?

I checked and replaced the 10A fuse for the brakes under the hood, it was not blown but replaced it anyway. I cycled the engine start a bunch of times. I unplugged the negative battery terminal for a few minutes and then reconnected. I tried my 2nd keyfob.

I'm at a loss, any help would be awesome.

I went through the wiring diagrams I've found online and figured out what the two extra connectors were. the 5 pin is the BSM switch and and the 8 pin is the Parking assist switch.

I'm thinking it's one of two things:
something got tweaked on the remote start system when removing the lower steering dash.
I bumped the ECU when wiggling the glove box and tweaked something on there (please don't let it be this one...)

I'm going to look deeper into the remote start system as this seems to make most sense. It needs control of both the brakes and ignition to start so I probably just need to find the short or disconnect.

Did you disconnect the battery before messing with the wires? Usually those messages are associated with lack of power to components/dead battery. I would start by checking all the fuses if the battery wasn't disconnected. Then start checking all the connections to the remote start modules.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious!

I started pulling out random fuses and the first one I pulled was blown. It's labeled IG2.
