    2023 Tacoma TRD Pro
Bought a 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro two weeks ago. Brand new and had 4 miles on it when I took it for a test drive. For once my procrastination paid off and it was not on the lot when I went there on Saturday to look, again. When I went Monday morning it was just put out on the lot. I went there to just talk to a salesman (to get the vehicles unlocked and be able to get inside and look. Been to the lot looking quite a few times in the past year or so while having a RAV4 serviced but as most Toyota lots, not much if anything on the lot available.

I really wanted a Tacoma but was not sure if I could get it in my garage and I did not want to leave a brand new vehicle outside, especially in the winter. Decided to compare a 4Runner to a Tacoma as I knew the 4Runner would fit in my garage. Was less than impressed with the 4Runner and the standard Tacoma was nice but didn’t feel right. The TRD Pro clicked all the buttons and was the truck I wanted.

Spent a couple hours talking and finally took it for a test drive and backed it in my garage and found that moving my lawn mower and snow blower out would allow it to fit. Went back and got a trade in price on my 2016 RAV4 and said I’ll buy it.

Have owned trucks in the past, actually really liked my old slightly used 73 Ford F-100 three on the tree but was a two door Wrangler guy for a long time. IMG_1139.jpg Loved my Wrangler for 13 years but got tired of getting bounced around all the time, especially on 600 mile highway days.

Bought a 2016 RAV4 from a relative to help them out with only 3,000 miles on it. Put another 84,000 miles on it and learned Toyota was a good reliable brand although I never had any attachment to the RAV4.

So time to buy a truck and decided it would be a Toyota. The Tundra would not fit in the garage so it had to be a Tacoma.

So after 2 weeks, I absolutely love my Tacoma TRD Pro. Only mod that has been made was to add a Revolver roll up Tonneau cover.

We will see what else is added but right now I love this truck.

    No great photo.

    Wow!

    Midnight Black Tacoma!!!

First thing I noticed are the non-color matched fender flares...which someone reminded me of for verification of TRD Pro.

Enjoy the heck out of your new truck!

Well, I’d be in the 60+ and not far from the 70+.

    apipeguy,

I'm new to the forum and - ahem - older as well. I just picked up my Tacoma SR5, yesterday.

It's actually my second. I had a 2017 SR5 which developed a front engine oil leak last year, and then rear engine oil leak this year! I wasn't expecting such repairs in relatively rapid succession. I asked the service manager and he said that this was very rare. So, I figured it was a fluke.

I was thinking about the Nissan Frontier or the Colorado. But, decided in the end to have faith in another Tacoma.

I didn't go off road - just used it for work and schlepping stuff around town. So, I didn't do much to the old one. However, since trolling the forums, I'm enthusiastic about personalizing this new one. First thing will be a tonneau cover ... If I can decide between a roll-up and flip.

I do enjoy the truck. Much different than the Mini Cooper I had just previously.tacoma.jpg

    You've got a capable adventure truck...top-of-the-line, too!

I'm already thinking about the next decade when I enter my 60s.

Staying active and working full-time for at least another 3 years is the goal; if I'm in a better financial situation, possibly sooner than 36 months.

Keep us updated on your activities with your truck.
