New Recovery option for our 3rd gen

This is the one I'm looking at. With recovery points already on it I probably won't need yours. Really like your product and innovation though!

Nice rear bumper. That's one thing I'll add to the bumper is a swing out tire carrier.

Lol looks better is all. You can lift our trucks with a crane by the hitch point. They only weigh two and a half tons, that pin in double shear is good for a lot more. Stretchy ropes take all the shock and pinching with a cable is slow and steady.
Only real shit could go down with a big tow strap or chain. Back in the day we used chain and steel cable. And stood way back.

 

I'm excited to get my pair, I preordered them when they first dropped. Been following NYTOP for a while since the wife has a GX (still can't convince her of their front bumper lol). Mine shipped out yesterday so I'll update the thread when they show up and post some pictures as well of course.

I'd be skeptical of any company that small providing a "rating" for recovery equipment. How did they achieve said rating? What direction of pull?

Cool looking I guess, but any truck needing recovery points which claim to be sturdier than the hitch receiver aren't off roading hard enough to need the claimed recovery strength, or are going to be cringing at how often those are going to get hung up coming off obstacles.

 

Then be skeptical all you want lol. I'm the consumer amd made that claim about it being rated stronger. I think I saw the rated strength in their website. I'm curious HOW you think they'll get hung up coming off obstacles? If anything they Helped me slide off obstacles and saved my rear plastic bumper. I did Plenty off roading with their prototype. As far as testing goes they are a small Co. But they also own their own steel Co. And they tested it plenty from what the owner/designer told me

 

Who makes this?

 

Wonder what these weigh? They do look nice and strong.

 

How they'll get hung up? The bumper caps are one of the first things to get torn off on trail, and these make departure angle worse.

Side loading this single sided point is going to be an epic failure. Beef =/= better....stick with a hitch mounted recovery, and if it isn't sturdy enough, reevaluate your method of recovery.

 

Step 1: Install bumper that improves departure angle over stock.

Step 2: Install recovery points that worsen departure angle over stock.

 

I agree. I prefer to stick with my steel bumper's recovery points, instead of add ons.

I can't imagine ever needing these over just using a hitch mount receiver. I get pulled out and pull people out multiple times a week and I think I've used the twin shackle mount recovery points on my rear bumper maybe twice. I'd hate the loss of departure angle.

They look like a good quality product but it's a solution in search of a problem IMO.
