Is it easy to start a taco without a key for a thief?

    Yes, but the immobilizer is more difficult, especially on a key model, you cant steal the code remotely, so you can turn the key, but it wont start.

    Smart keys have more vulnerabilities than standard keys currently.

    So my SR5 key has this immobilizer in the key fob?

    Yes, if you cut a blank key at a hardware store, it will turn the ignition on, but wont start the truck.

    I think all Toyotas do since somewhere around 2006?

    I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
    Locking gas caps are pretty useless these days. Many manufacturers are using fuel tanks that can't be siphoned, so thieves are now just drilling out the tank, and putting a bucket under it. Especially since the plastic fuel tanks don't spark.

    this only works on older vehicles without immobilizer keys or on new model pieces of shit like Kia and Chevy which on some US-sold models dont have immobilizers.

    In a lot of western auto markets (Canada, UK, others) immobilizer keys are mandated by law now.
