Hi, i bought a tacoma in 2014 in New Hampshire and then moved to New York. I moved to Georgia in 2021 and just found out about this issue. I was told by 2 dealers that i need to go to a cold weather state (they gave me a list) to get the CRC compound applied. Since this is a mobile society I find it hard to believe that Toyota made no provisions to address this. Has anyone else ran into this?

It's special compound and equipment, you need to go back to a rust belt dealer. They simply won't have it in NY.

My friend's truck from MA was reframed in NC after failure. I'm not sure if she got the CRC or not, much less if it was here but I'll see if she remembers.

Regardless, definitely get it done no matter what. Worth it to get the "insurance". My 2010 was reframed 2 years ago

Welcome to TW! Whether or not the dealership helps you, just treat the frame yourself. You can use Fluid Film, Wool Wax or, I use RP-342.
