I know I saw a thread on this before, but my search skills suck on this site. I'm looking to mount a ham radio unit under the drivers seat and I am pretty sure someone else has done this.... need to know how much room is there... I know, I could just check my own truck, but someones experience would help.

Also looking for threads on getting wires through the firewall.. both sides. I'm guessing the Audio forums would be the best place, still looking for threads on this.

Awesome! The second one has the picture I knew I had seen somewhere, of the radio under the seat. Same radio I have! Woo hoo! I owe you a beer.

UPDATE: And the third one happens to be the same antenna bracket I have! Thanks!

No problem. If it wasn´t such a far drive from Louisiana to Canada I would take you up on that beer.
Ah hell, road trip, see you in a few days. :D
    Glad I could help.

Damn, you could fit two radios under there no problem! Kenwood F-710 body under the drivers seat, and Yaesu-857 going under the passenger seat sometime soon.

And here's the antenna mount on! Just need to get the PL-259 put on tomorrow, and aground wire, and we're ready to go!

Thanks so much for the idea of underseat mounting! And for all the advice, everyone!

I know this is an old post, but I would really like to know how the radio bracket is attached to the seat.
