    Hello everyone.

I have spent some time searching the archives but cant find a good answer.

I have a stock 2015 double cab sport. I carry 300lbs at all times with my tent and accessories on. I also carry more on trips, maybe up to 500lbs or more.

I was looking at sumo springs, then after reading about the roughness of the ride (this thing is rough enough already) i started looking at the hellwig spring helpers. However there are lots of complaints about them as well (frame damage, crappy hardware etc).

I just want to achieve stock angle back. i am sagging .5 inch with just my everyday set up and about 1 inch when fully loaded for a trip.

Is there a spring pack that you guys would recommend that would level things out but not require lifting the front. I want to maintain stock height but not be sagging.

    Thank you!

I have a 2015 Sport 4x4 V6 with an Access Cab. I bought the truck used and it came with rear Hellwig overload springs. I replaced the rear leaf pack with Gen 3s, installed blue sumo springs and 5100s. I got rid of the hellwigs. I’m happy with the ride, I occasionally pull a trailer and have hauled bags of corn for hunting.

I have the blue sumo springs on my 07 AC Prerunner (with a leer cap) and the ride is not rough even empty. One thing I don't miss is that abrupt hit on the stock bump stops when I'm carrying all my camping gear or hauling one bike on a hitch carrier or two bikes on a utility trailer.

+1 for the Sumo's. "Rough" ride is subjective. I think my '14 AC rides fine. There are two things I would immediately do if I bought a new Tacoma, Sumo's are one of them.
I have no experience with any other brand of bump stops or helpers.

I can definitely advise against the helper springs - the same material "creep" problems seen in the OEM leafs goes on with the add-ons. The metallurgy just doesn't seem to be there - when I was in High School old leaf spring steel would make a nice knife - not anymore.

I'm running the Firestone air springs for adjustability - they reduce travel a bit - but will stabilize all sorts of variations in load. You only need a bicycle pump to adjust or fill them - very little volume will get the job done.

I run blue sumo springs and love them. I’m lifted so not riding on them constantly. The ride is not rough.

I definitely prefer the Sumo’s over the Hellwig’s, to me it was a much softer ride and less jumpy.
