    Hey all!

    I have a 06 Tacoma, 4x4, 4.0L with 225,000 miles.

I have been trying to diagnose an odd rubbing / chirping sound from underneath the front of the cabin. I can only recreate the sound after the vehicle is warm. When warm I can hear the rubbing / chirping briefly when starting, when going over bumps, and briefly when shutting down. The sound has been going on for about a month and its time to try and resolve it - its very annoying.

I've replaced the serpentine belt, and most of the front end linkage is new (LCA ball joints, sway bar links, outer tie rods, inner tie rods, shocks). It doesn't sound like a loose sway bar (not a thud like noise).

Maybe it's the engine mounts, but I didn't see any play and can't imagine they would make a noise like this (could be wrong). I think it might be the exhaust since I can only hear the sound when the vehicle is warm, but it's not the "rattle" noise I see posts about all over TW.

I dropped it off at a local shop today - since I can't diagnose myself.

If they can't recreate the issue, I was hoping to point them in the right direction using advice from this amazing community!
