My husband has a 2011 Tacoma Pre-runner. Needed to replace rear u-joint (some people call this something else) on driveshaft. He ran across a video on Youtube showing where you can only remove half of the driveshaft (the part they say is “unserviceable”). He says that he wishes that he just pulled the entire driveshaft off and put it across a table or something to work on it. Has anyone seen this video? Its called “2012 Tacoma Driveshaft Clunk Fixed”. Thanks!!

Ahh yes, the old “you got a cut on your arm. Let’s replace your entire torso.”Story, bleh! And the rest of the planet wonders why we create so much waste.

You can replace the ujoint yourself.
just remember to “keep the drive shaft in phase”.

I replaced the centre ujoint and centre carrier bushing since I’m already there.

    Pull the whole driveshaft.
Unbolt the carrier bearing and pull it out in 1 piece.

If you (he) needs help. We will be more than happy to answer any questions.
But definitely don’t attempt to separate the driveshaft while it’s under the truck.
That a lot of unnecessary trouble.
