My truck seems to be losing oil. I am unable to detect a leak of any sort so I assume I’m burning it somehow. I replaced the pcv valve about a month ago and that didn’t seem to work. The truck runs fine and there’s no dash warning light, despite losing about a quart of oil every month or 2. Anybody have any opinions on what my next step should be? Thanks guys

if no leaks its more than likely blowby. leaking past the piston rings due to the piston rings lined up together basically making a hole for burning oil. just a guess

you can have the engine running and take the fill cap or the dipstick out and if you see smoke coming out, pistons-blowby

A 26yr old engine I'm assuming ? Either way sounds like you need to get a scope / camera in thru the spark plug holes in the head to check for cylinder wear..or the oil rings are stuck on the piston or pistons..could be a combination of cylinder wear plus oil rings..unfortunately..a last ditch roll of the dice attempt to free up stuck oil rings is to pour a 50/50 mix of ATF transmission fluid with acetone in each cylinder thru the spark plug holes and let it sit for a day or two then turn over the engine to drain most of it out, the rest can be pumped out with a small hose..you may see 1 or 2 cylinders that are empty which would be a good indicator of bad rings.. then do a complete oil change..its a flip of a coin to try to do something or just feed it oil..if it's burning oil, you should know about it and see signs of it burning oil besides it getting low on oil..

What does a 'month or two' equal in miles driven?

And what kind of miles? City? Interstate? Hooning?

When starting cold, is there a huff of blue at the tailpipe?

What do your plugs look like?

A compression check would be easy enough.
That is, if you have the gauges.
