Made it home. My son is already washing “big grey”- as he refers to it. Have a bunch of pictures to go through and upload.

Alignment appointment already made for tomorrow.

Oooh! Where'd you get him? My dad and brother are gearing up for another rottie after my brother's passed away last year.

Glad y'all made it back. I had a blast. Shame that Megan and I had to leave early, I spent all day at work yesterday wishing I was back in the woods. Hell, today as well lol. Again, many thanks for getting this shindig together. I'll definitely be in for the next trip.

I'll share my google drive folder of pics once I figure out how to convert them all from iPotato's format to JPEG.

Cheers y'all - finally back online. Good trip, nowhere in my mind did I expect 13 trucks to go (a) that smoothly and (b) with that few flats. One flat plugged and rippin' in 5 minutes I will take any day. I thought we weren't getting out with at least 3. Learned a lot in terms of planning and coordinating, so thanks for being some guinea pigs. Love to bring people up and get them to see what Maine has to offer, if anyone wants to go out, throw out a date and you'll get some people to bite I'm sure!

Hope to repeat next year :bananadance:

Ton of rain down here, I love it when I have to wash the truck when it's raining though - the rain does a pre-soak and it wicks right off with the pressure washer now.

PS Not worried about radio antenna, I'll grab it at AOAA.

The self-wash here didn't even touch the fine dust stuck to the paint lol. I'll go back some night this week with my own soap and sponges. Not having a driveway/hose sucks lol.

I'll definitely be tossing out some invites for fall and winter camping. Was good to meet everyone, hoping to attend more camping/wheeling outings and get this relatively virgin rig off the highway more often.

Keep in mind hunting seasons for the fall, and winter that some roads are not cleared of snow.

The gates are not manned ("wide open") from November through ... April?, campsites might not be accessible, etc. Also, it's f'in COLD.

Road conditions are pretty well updated for the major roads on their website and on their facebook page.

    :burnrubber:

Was good to see y'all, that spot we camped the last night is only a couple hours from Bangor so y'all can boot up there any time :)

Oh I plan on trying a hunting trip this deer season lol. And of course winter camping would be weather dependent, etc. I'm no stranger to tenting in snow lol. Probably not gonna venture too deep into the sticks in the colder months but we'll see what happens!

I wasn't sure what I was expecting at the B-52 site , but getting there and seeing the wreckage strewn across the woods was...harrowing to say the least. I work in aviation maintenance and it's one thing to see a wrecked/demolished plane...another to see a bomber turned into confetti with chunks of beefy twisted landing gear and mangled structures scattered about.

Definitely a somber place. Crazy to see all of that first hand.
