Minor Lifting

Lift definitely makes the MPGs worse, simply physics. More air drag.

But yes, not as much as larger/heavier tires.

 

One has 6 letters. The other 5, an c is the only common letter.

Ok, when talking about the rear, nothing.

In the front, you can't use a block. It's a spacer or a puck. Because round.

 

In most cases the amount of mpg loss of having a 1-2” lift is negligible in my experience. I’m sure physics says you lose something, but I haven’t noticed any noticeable loss. Must be less than 1 mpg loss

 

Mathematically, yes but in the real world, I didn't see substantially lower MPGs until I had 33s w/ more weight. And boy did it drop once I went 35s. I just don't want to send the wrong message that minor lifting (< 2") will drastically lower MPG's.

 

Yes. I noticed ~ .5 mpg loss with my 2” lift. I am running premium SFOB tune on 94E0 which makes the truck a bit more fuel efficient.

So on a factory ECU calibration ~1MPG loss is highly probable.

One thing. On highway it will be more noticeable, city no difference IMO.

 

Absolutely nothing wrong with a small spacer lift for street use and light off reading. I ran these on 2 Wrangler JKs and my Tundra. Never and issue and maintain stock ride.

@GeorgiaCajun i wouldnt go spacer lift ... its a half ass lift. Go full ass and get a suspension lift. i did 1.5"- 2" all around and am happy with it. But first enjoy your truck for a little while then take the plunge.

Looks exactly what I'm going for. What lift did you go with for the rear? Or just Bilstein's and no rear lift?

That’s what I have, bilsteins and a 1 inch block. Looks and rides great! I have 265/75/16s.

 

Just to give u an idea. One inch lift front and rear with one size bigger tires. 265 75 16s.Lost 1 mpg and didnt notice any loss if power. Getting a tune pretty much gave me the 1 mpg loss back again.

 

Forget the 5100's or anything with a block or spacer. At least go for the Bilstein 6112/5160 set to a mild lift height. Add a leaf or icon rxt leaf pack in the rear.

Then swap your oem wheels for something with a zero to -10 offset. Factory trd wheels are something like +25 offset so they appear sucked in and will appear more-so if lifted.

265/75/16 or 265/70/17. Find a lightweight wheel and tire combo. Toyo AT3's are butter smooth and light weight. SCS has a few if you can find them in stock.
