Yup can't wait to say tgif. Had a long week last week. Looking forward to having the whole weekend off.

 

Sounds like it'll be a good year to test out my fireplace at the new house. See how much heat she'll actually put out.

 

New PC up and running.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950x3d
AMD RX 7900 XTX
64gb of Corsair Dominator DDR5 5600
2x 2tb WD Black SN850x
Running on an ASUS PRIME X670E WIFI

 

The full AMD build, it's great AMD is actually competitive again, last pc I built was all AMD, FX8350 black and and HD7970, the 7970 was good, but the 8350 got smoked by intel in pretty much everything.

 

And they ran hot.

Going with AMD was honestly more about nvidia being unrepentant cockbags recently.

 

Yeah nvidia has been shitty the past few years, locking to many things down and over charging.

 

You two talking computers is like speaking awhile different language. Lol I was heavy into pc gaming when I was in my early 20s but drifted away from it. Now even if I wanted to play games it last for 10mins than I get irritated and turn it off.

 

Haha yeah I hear ya, I rarely touch my home PC anymore since I spend my day staring at 3 screens at work all day

 

Doesn't that get to your eyes after awhile.

 

I only use 2 screens but I've got like 4 rdp sessions open at any given time.

Luckily I've got a staff I can delegate the vast majority of the day to day stuff to.

 

Yeah, hence the reason for not wanting to stare at screens at home and plenty of "coffee" breaks. Lol

 

Only 2 rdp sessions most days and a bunch of chrome tabs

 

It's always a fun day when it's feeding time for all my snakes.

 

is there good competition once again between AMD and Intel in the gaming world?

 

Yeah they are pretty neck and neck now, AMD is more efficient and cooler, still comes down to what GPU your using though. Ever since AMD released their ZEN architecture they've been pretty competitive with Intel

I'll leave it there as warning to all lantern flies what the taco is capable of...lol.

 

Yeah.. been running prime95 for the last 2 hours on a CPU torture test and my case fans haven't even kicked on. Went with a 360mm AIO cooler instead of air as I've done.. forever. CPU maxing out at 62c @ 141watts.

Haven't done any OCing yet tho.
