We added this guy to the family a year ago! His name is Cricket and he’s 60% pit mixed with a bunch of other things, and he absolutely loves riding in the Tacoma. He’s only about as tall as my knees, but a lean 70 pounds, and can jump into the bed of my truck from a standstill, even with the 2” lift

Is Koda a big talker/howler/screamer? Dex rarely makes a peep which is pretty surprising for a Husky

 

Dex looks awesome! Koda doesn't talk very much But this is my girl that recently passed, Kita. She was definitely a talker! Very sassy!

 

Kilo chased a curious coyote away that kept following us on our trail ride the other day.

 

Aw Kita looks like a sweetheart. Huskies are the best, though I am glad I don't have a screamer like these guys

Both Rescued. One GSD/Coyote mix, One Purebred who had been abused and abandoned as a puppy.

 

Santino at age 7 months. Sadly he passed last month at age 13. We miss him tremendously Absolutely beautiful GSD. When I'd walk him, people driving would stop to say what a beautiful dog he was on a daily basis.

This may have been posted elsewhere in this thread (I haven't read all, or even most of the posts). All of you (especially Bill0351 & YUKONSLY) who have recently lost your dogs have my deepest sympathy.

We lost Emma in October, and her food dish is still in its usual spot in the kitchen. Sully's wagon is still in the garage and I haven't been able to bring myself to use it for anyone or anything else since he passed (August 2021), so I can appreciate Sly leaving the nose prints on his windows.

Anyway:

Where to Bury A Dog?

We just found out my best friend, our 12 year old lab, probably has lymphoma in his GI tract. Thankfully he is still his same goofy self.

Does anyone here have any experience with dog lymphoma? We have a consultation with an oncologist scheduled for next week which was the soonest appointment.

Kyle is 12 and Remy is 5. They are best buds lol

Riley had a fairly good sized cancerous mass on his spleen (biopsy confirmed) and a thumb sized mass on his chest. The internal mass was also bleeding. He was 11-1/2. His vet talked a bit about the options and indications. He'd also developed diabetes which may or not have been related.

Make a list of questions you have and be honest with yourself. Some things I recognized before talking to the vet. 12 years is about the lifespan for a lab of Riley's size (he was 100+ pounds). Older dogs take much longer to heal from surgery. Surgery is also very hard on them. Chemo can also be difficult just as it is for people. From his diagnosis, there was a good chance he would live a little longer but not years and he wouldn't have the quality of life. There is no easy answer. You just hope to make the best decision for your pup.

Each case is different and I wish you the best.

 

I like the collar. I need one that's says don't try to say hi to me. She doesn't like strangers talking to her. This is hersl at Lowe's. We are working on getting her accustomed to strangers.
