My buddy wrecked himself surfing and had to leave island for surgeries and pt, I thought I'd do him a solid and buy his truck off him yo help him on his way. 2006 2wd tacoma w extended cab and rear seats w/108k. I had it for 2 months and it overheated and stalled. I pressure tested the coolant system to hear liquid draining into the cylinders, scoped cylinders to see standing water in there. Pulled the head, had remanufactured, did the usual timing, water pump, head gasket kit, etc. Upon starting up it ran great for a few min then began hissing and steaming. My buddy thinks it's an internal crack in cylinder wall. What do yall think? Any input greatly appreciated. This is all happening while we are struggling to recover from wildfires wiping out a whole town. Hope all is well aloha!

Aloha, originally from Maui. Hope all is well, my family back home was fortunate but not much can be said for others. Prayers for everyone back home.

Are you losing coolant? Run a compression test. It won't identify the problem but it can narrow it down.
