Not today but on Tuesday I had @cemented come over to the house and install the OTT tune on my stock 4.0l auto 2015. From the moment we went on a test drive to see if I liked it. (which I did) it has been nothing but smiles, everytime I drive. I have given it a couple of days and can say it makes my old truck feel pretty peppy. I am not going out to Woodburn and running the 1/4 mile.
But off the line it has a nice little pull that it didnt before. It holds gear a little longer ,and shifts super smooth. The truck is still running on 87 octane. I will run this tank out and add 91 next to see how that does. But at this point I am really happy with the tune. Thanks again @cemented.

What have y’all done for paint issues? Old girl is looking good still, but the hood and roof are rough, to say the least. Beat to shit.

I did that a few years back. Depending where you live, I would really look into it. The vinyl on my roof and hood baked on after like 2 years (California heat). It was super hard to take off when I got my truck painted earlier this year.

I had the same pattern you see on the picture but with vinyl. Same as you, I did it to cover the shitty clear coat that was coming off. It lasted a good two years, and then started drying out pretty bad. I would say if you go with the vinyl wrap, to make sure and give it a good ceramic coat spray every few months.

Well I may as well get it painted then because I’d rather not pay only to have to redo it a couple years later. The Louisiana heat ain’t much different than cali

Shoot, I ended up repainting my hood and roof. Also ended up reclearcoating some panels since the clear was starting to get faded but not peeling.
Decided to buy a cover for the truck since I really want to keep the truck for a long time.

Not today, but a couple of weeks ago I got my 2nd gen tuned with the KDMax 10.0 from @805 Tacoma Tuning @PapaRee @TWTaco. One of the other members reached out for a review since there is so little info on 2nd gens out there, so I thought I'd share some feedback so far.....
First off, customer service was next level. Tom and the guys were great to work with, taking their time to talk me through the process, and making sure they got it right.

Truth is, I was on the fence about doing it for a couple of years since there was so little info on 2nd gens. I felt that my 2nd gen was great as it was from the factory, until I added a bunch of weight (not my daily driver so I have a full length pull out drawer/sleeping platform and a storage cabinet, all filled with my camping stuff, camper shell, full skids, sliders, racks, blah blah blah).

I dont tow often, but right after getting the tune I did tow a uhaul 5'x9' trailer with a few sheets of plywood. Nothing crazy heavy but combined with the existing weight in my bed, it gives me an idea.

My truck is still adjusting to the changes, but overall driveability has definitely improved. At first I went with normal throttle. It was nice, but not exactly what I had expected in my minds eye. After that test drive we reflashed it to the sport throttle. There is a clear improvement in throttle response, and shift points. While towing and hauling the extra weight, the truck feels like it did before I added any of the weight. When I had the trailer hooked up the only way I knew it was there was when braking. So far the only negative has been my gas mileage. On my way out to get the tune I was @ about 15mpg (rough). On my way home I was down to near 13 (ouch). Tom warned me to expect that while the truck acclimates to the changes. He said it would take about 2 tanks of gas (im still on my first tank since the truck isnt my daily). It could also be that since the tune I've been giving her the beans waaaay more when I do drive it. Maybe the normal throttle would have given me better mpg than what i am currently experiencing, but in for a dime....in for a dollar. Have yet to take it off road since the tune (works been wild) so time will tell.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions I didn't answer.

Did you do the paint job yourself? Do you happen to know the brand of paint and color #? (Yes of course it's black!)

I know the before don’t look terrible. The headlights were ‘ok’ but do look worse than the photos make them out to be. Either way, all fresh now!
