    You going to rent a floor and edge sander and sand and stain the entire floor or just that section and blend in the new boards?

    The best way! Go with a 35 grit first pass, 50 second and 100 for third.

    Then use a buffer and 120 grit screen to finish it off. Then vacuum dust.

    For edging, 50 and 100 should do it.


    Just let that floor sander do the work, feathering in and out when you get close to the wall.


    You may have the do a 45° pass over new wood first if the lip is high enough from what you tied into.
