Hey everyone. So, a couple weeks ago, my wife noticed my fog lights were strobing with my truck off in the driveway and upon further inspection, no matter what light stalk position, key position, or the fog light switch being on or off, they were strobing. I started diagnosing and found no fuses blown or wires chewed up/chafed. I do have a set of Cali Raised fog light pods which have an adapter to connect to the factory harness. Well, I took those adapters off and they looked shot. I reached out to Cali Raised and they sent me a new set of adapters free of charge. Fast forward to now, the new adapters are in and the fog lights won't even strobe let alone turn on or flicker. I used my multi-meter and I confirmed I have 12 volts at the end of the connectors going into the fog light tail wires on both sides. I just find it very odd that they both failed at the EXACT same time. So... my question is this -

Is there a way to see if the fog lights themselves are truly the issue beyond just ASSUMING the power is being disrupted somewhere between the housing and the tail of wires coming off the pod?

Has anyone else ever ran into this issue? I'm not wanting to drop some coin on new fog lights just to have the same issue.

I do have the anytime fog light mod but again, nothing with that looked to be amiss and I had 12v going through the wiring harness to the end of the connectors.

    Thanks.

Test the fogs on their own, as in provide fused power and ground to fog light pigtail.

LED's are polarity sensitive. Try reversing the connectors.

I've already tried that, with the old connectors and new ones with no luck

Maybe leave it to a skilled tech...
Jumper wire with fuse from battery to fog light terminals. Another wire to ground, chassis or up to the battery.

So power to connectors is verified, then your fog lamps are toast.

    relay might be going out
put your meter to ACV to see if you have steady DCV or a fluctuation

Cali Raised lighting products are nothing more than rebadged chinesium lights

    I'll give that a shot.

Oh trust me I know but at the time I was an E-3 so I bought what I could afford. SS3's were unfathomably expensive to me at that time

So you are not sure there's juice and you don't believe the fogs(both) are toast.

There is power (12 volts + just with the key at accessory) to where the pods connect to the adapter and subsequently the rest of the wiring harness. There’s 8 inches or so of wire coming off the pod. Somewhere between the pod and that 8 inches of wire, the power stops. Now I can assume that means the pods are done for, however my question was basically - am I safe to assume that the pods are burnt out or can I troubleshoot further before buying replacement fog lights to keep from running into the same issue.

You could remove the fog lamp, peal the insulation off until you find the break. Then crimp a terminal. But if you peal up to the fog lamp housing then more intense surgery will be required if you want to keep the chinesium lamp.

directly powering one of the lights at a time to confirm would be the next step
how to do it kind of depends on what you have available, could use some wire from the battery and touch the contacts or a battery charger with a 1/2 amp trickle setting
