I'd like to find an Aluminum Tool Box for the rear of my dad's 06 TRD Off Road.

I was hoping to hear suggestion if others have experiences.

I'd like to avoid drilling into the bed if it can be avoided.

The lower the price the better.

    Thanks

Depends on what he needs them for, I’d recommend side boxes, take up no bed space, and give easy access to everything

I don't really need it for anything in particular....I'm looking to give it you him as a gift and I thought tool box might be a cool gift until I seen the prices...Oh well so it goes. I'd like to have one picked out but continue looking for a good used one. He has one off an old truck in the shed but it's 1 inch too wide for the bed.

I’m a dad, if I were him, I’d rather you put that money into yourself or future

get into Dave Ramsey and set yourself up

I have been very happy with my UWS low profile truck box. Its low enough that I can still see out of 95% of the rear window. The only two options I sometimes wish I had gotten are; two flush mount D rings on the front and the cargo rail on the top.
I found my truckbox looking on Craigslist, there was a listing for a truck accessory shop with scratch and dent boxes for cheap, I think it was $150-$200 range.

I second the UWS low profile. I've had one for years. Very well made.

I would check marketplace, there's usually plenty of used ones if you're not picky for perfect brand new condition. As for mounting without drilling, I would use these. Super cheap and easy to use and secure it right to the bed rail. I actually use them to hold my Leer 180 bed cap down and haven't had any movement, so they seem plenty robust.
