Thanks! The wheels clear the calipers just fine, but it is CLOSE that's for sure. The only thing to pay attention to is if you use the stick on wheel weights make sure they are not in direct line with the tall portion of the caliper. Mine ended up there to start with and the caliper pulled the wheel weights off, so I rebalanced and moved the weights over 1/2" and they were fine then. I went with 16's simply because typically the tires are cheaper than a 17" wheel.

That's the exact reason I went with 16's. Plus you get the added benefit of a bit more sidewall for offroading. :D

:taco: Just fixed my speedo so it finally reads the correct speed. It's been off by about 30 mph ever since the Lefty swap 3 years ago. :burnrubber: :D

Here's a quick run down on how I wired up my Dakota Digital Speedometer box in my 07 Tacoma. The wiring portion turned out to be very simple. There's really only one wire you need to find which is the speed signal wire. Since mine is a manual transmission the speed sensor is located in the transfer case and with some help of the wiring diagram I was able to locate it behind the glove box pretty easily.

It's located within this plug.... which is right next to the cabin air filter.

    100_0880_691cc3a1a0fdbfbc4fea68c1ff4332062505ed90.jpg

The wire we're after is the red with yellow stripe wire. You'll need to cut this wire and ad some extensions to each side long enough to reach wherever your going to mount the calibration box.

    100_0881_9caa15eaad8718c976ad088c9c2134d63148e343.jpg

Next you'll need to tab an IGN power source from wherever is easiest for you and also run a ground wire. Once you have these 4 wires ready you can hook up the box.

Going left to right across the terminals....

12v IGN power - ground - speed signal in - speed signal out (the signal out would be the side of the wire that goes directly into the plug)

(Note in the picture where the speed signal out is wired to, not the first open terminal!)

    100_0882_b1c79655c3977a02358a5baad4409a0502e12a14.jpg

After that just mount the box and your ready to calibrate it!

It took me a bit to figure out exactly how to do the calibration and it would take forever for me to explain it on here so for anyone doing this just let me know and I can walk you through how to set it correctly. It's really not that hard however the directions leave a bit to be desired in my eyes.

Got it on ebay for $75 shipped. That's about the best price I could find. Nice thing about this box is any other changes I make down the road to the truck (bigger tires, different gears) will throw off the speedo again but I can just recalibrate it and I'm good to go.

Well they just stick on so I would assume they would peel off but it's some pretty sticky stuff so might be pretty tough.
