Might have one picked out for my wife or daughter... Might not be upset if he lives another year or two either lol $20 spy point finally earning it's keep haha

 

They opened up an additional 200 acre block in the watershed area I hunt. It connects with a couple other blocks.
So of course, I had to sniff it out today.
Goes from the banks of one reservoir up hill to side hills with ledges and plenty of stone walls.
Looks promising, depending how bad the Fudds hammer it. May be good late season when they all gave up.

Hot as hell in there with plenty-o-skeeters. Had enough skeeter and tick stuff on me to kill a whale.
Bumped plenty of critters.
Had a lot of rain, so I got to about 30 feet from her...

Gotta decent buck that comes into my stand just about every night. Probably could shot him last night, just didn't know if I wanted my season to end on the first day.... seasons goes till the end of November

Checked trail cams today. One of them quit working due to the batteries exploding, but the other one caught these guys walking by several times. I'd seen these guys from a distance but they were to far away to tell just how healthy they are.

I pulled the trigger on some new glass last week, ended up getting the Bx-2 Leupold Binos and the Rx 1400i rangefinder also by Leupold. I have been running bushnell 10x42 binos for years and wanted to take a step up. It was a hard decision with all those vortex specials bass pro has been running but I ended up liking the feel, weight, design better on the Leupolds.

What kinda glass are people running?

 

I bought the Vortex Viper HD 12x50s a couple years ago and a few months ago I caught a sale for the Vortex Diamondback HD 10x42s for use in more dense foliage. The Viper is very nice; great optics, but the weight savings for the Diamondback is noticeable and the quality of the glass isn't bad either. I also don't feel the need to be as careful with the $200 glass as I do with the $500 glass.

I just reset my 25’ ladder stand ! It’s in a huge double pine and one of the braces for the ladder was stuck in the truck . Platform was pitched forward also .

 

I love my Vortex stuff . One scope and 2 sets of binoculars. Diamondback 10x50 and the Viper HD 8x42 .Scope is a Viper 4x16x50

 

We have few vortex scopes, same binos and range finder

 

I have the vortex UHDs.

I pretty much went down the hole from vipers to razors to UHDs, but hunting out west, good glass is kind of a necessity.

I have some Athlon UHD spotter. It’s ok. I don’t like to bring my good spotters because they’re heavy and expensive. Even this one I use more on day hunts. Expedition hunts I don’t really have enough room after food and such.
