Emergency Brake Light won't go out?

    I just ran into this too, my issue was that the metal tube the handle slides in is getting worn out and allowing the small piece that pushes on the switch to miss the switch and not depress it.

    Hey, I had this same issue, and i followed the advice on this thread that suggested to top off the brake fluid. My reservoir was juuuuust above the Minimum line and i filled it to juuuuust above the Maximum line. The battery was disconnected at the time because i was doing other things, but when i reconnected the battery and turned it on later that day, and took the released the ebrake, well low and behold, the brake light in fact went off. First time I saw that thing shut off in like 2 years. I couldnt believe it was such a simple fix.
