Hey fellas. I'd like to get this job done and looking for some assistance either to do the whole install (by a shop) or if anyone is loaning or renting out the tools for a small fee (removal, install and seal tool) and I'll do it myself. I'll be installing 5100s at the same time. If I could get access to a lift, I'd be a whole lot happier to tackle this myself! Does anyone have any shop leads or can loan the tools? I'm located in Truckee/North Tahoe so anywhere from Sac to Reno is doable.

I already called the "best" offroad shop in Reno, the closest place to me and they claimed to have lifted hundreds of Tacomas and never even heard of the ECGS nor ever had a problem with any truck. They then quoted me $1200 just in labor to install the shocks and a 1/2" rear lift block. What a joke!

Are you lifting 3”? Do you have the 5100’s already assembled? Do you have a jack? Do you have jackstands?

I'm not lifting it much maybe only 0.65" or 1.1" front and 0' or 1/2" in back. My truck already has some small vibes in stock form so plan on doing the ECGS just as preventative and a 1/2 or 1 degree rear axle shim along with a 1/2" OEM lift block from the TRD Pro/Trail Edition. I planned on doing the "no spring compressor" on-truck method of installing the 5100s. It looks like the easy part of the process. It's the ECGS that looks to be a pain, especially hunched down without a lift. I have two floor jacks, 4 jack stands, torque wrenches, etc. I still need to get the ECGS tools, large socket for the spindle and tie rod puller.

Gotcha. It seems like you have what you need aside from the puller and setting tools. I believe a friend had one that wanted to get rid of, let me ask. All that you want to do can be achieved on your driveway no issues(unless you have physical mobility issues)

Driveway?! No way man. Haha. I do have a 2 car garage to work in. I could get it done if I just took my time. That’s probably what will happen. I have two friends with lifts but they’re not close to me. Might be worth a weekend trip there to do this though.

Anyone willing to ship one to NC for a few days? Will cover shipping both ways and throw in a little extra. My sons '08 has been making some noise and after inspection looks like it's time for a new bushing to be installed.

    TIA
