    Some things I've been working on lately

    UCA / Shock hoop mounts for my 98. May or may not remember, however @Shmellmopwho bent that tube like 5 years ago... thank you again Ryan

    Time flies I am not sure how long ago I stocked up on weld nuts it might be 10 years ago .

    Those raised corners are a stand off to allow you to better burn your weld in.

    I don`t see any reason this style will not work for your project.

    Taking a quick look I did not see the style weld nut I have on the shelf perhaps this is the new improved style .

    The ones I used when welded on ended up flush with the outer surface of the material .

    I will see if I can remember to take a picture of the ones I use.

    @koditten

    Thank you again for the files

    For some reason, got beveling issues again but I just need to maybe square up my other tube as well as getting my table completely level as someone mentioned

    That and I still haven't cross braced my table :rofl:

    Nothing a belt sander or careful hand with an angle grinder can't take care of but I need to flatten and get all these parts flush with each other

    But really the huge help comes from the fact that these are closely the same size as Swag Offroads die set

    They really only support a 2" leg before the die interferes with said piece so unless I'm doing something small, the $165 wouldn't have been worth it

    Maybe this info will help anyone that considered looking at these dies

    Example of my control arm mount and the die; really only useful for small stuff if you've only got a 20 ton press

    I'd say the torque#s will change with the size of weld nut.

    70s welding wire is specked to yield with 70,000 lbs of shear force.

    I think the threads will strip long before that.

    How many ugga, duggas do you need?

    I called about another weld in threaded insert with the same abmiguous description and I think it was equivalent to Grade 5. I wouldn't go over 5 and more likely around Grade 2 - when needing more clamping force, I've sanded down Grade 8 nuts and clamped with some vise grips for tacking. If you know anyone with a lathe, they can turn normal hex nuts into a weld nut really quickly and easily.

    I tighten them like any other nut of the same size after some time you get a feel.

    The nice thing if you mess up the threads simple to replace.

    what's a fair labor price on having a DRT CMR welded on?

    Are welding colleges worth considering for a source on any welding work, possibly including but not necessarily limited to this
    buddy suggested I look into that,
    but naturally I'm a bit skeptical on the concept someone learning on a job like this
    eventually gonna need a swingout welded on, if it ever comes...

    Welding in itself isn't very hard to learn.

    Welding out of position in itself requires quite a bit of experience to perform the same sort of work one would do on a flat table.

    That's where the difference lies between welders really.

    With that said, I would not take it to a college for others to practice on.

    Then there's the separate act of cutting out the parts to be replaced with the new mount, which by itself lends itself to a different experience many may not even have.

    Being that you're in So Cal, you have 3 very well-known fabricators (on this very thread) that would easily take you up on that job.

    I can't say what they charge, and out of respect would advise from trying to pinch pennies with who's the "cheapest" (I can recommend any of those I'm referring to).

    I'd say you should venture to whoever's closest.

    @GHOST SHIP
    @Shmellmopwho
    @Ricardo13x

    Me, I'd love to take on the work but I'm quite a few hours away.

    Tanner (TKO Off-road) might be near you - he also operates KPO Off-road as a business and does a lot of work for Solo Motorsports on weekdays and does side jobs on the weekends like this all the time.
