He specifically did NOT want a push button switch.
Mine has been on since 2019. It isn't a lifetime, but no problems what so ever thus far. Hood gets open twice a week minimum, every week.
My exposed contact is SS. All good.

I was recommending it for you. Not the person you quoted.
I had them on my 06 Tacoma, my 16' 4Runner, My 18' Tacoma. All of them needed replacing after about years. Could be because I live in Hawaii and we have salt air from being surrounded by the ocean?
I purchased a bunch of those switches, so it was an inconvenience to have to keep replacing them.

I just installed one of those sealed push buttons on my 2021 Tacoma and so far so good.
I also forgot my Tailgate has a "mercury switch" so the light comes on when the tailgate is dropped.

Kind of doesn't matter because when I get close to my truck all the light automatically come on.

It’s my 4th set, I’ve done it to all of them, zero issues. A full year later and they still looked like new, an SOS pad will shine them up if they look dull.

    Thanks for your concern.

Removed the factory running boards. Only purpose they served for me was door ding protection which is great but they gimped my style getting in and out of the truck. I don't need them for help getting in or out so they caused me do a half split getting in the truck. Bad enough I also gotta do a duck and weave also.

You can just use your ditch light for an under hood light.

it's not plug n play. I took my JBLs out and the plugs were different. I was happy with how the stock JBLs looked and sounded, so I put them back and sent back the DS18's back to Amazon.

@3GTCMLMTD I’ve learned over the years even with 2 channel audiophile setups anyway. Sometimes the better the equipment the more picky it is on the recording and type of music. We’re as some middle of the road equipment will sound good with everything.
