Scratched wheel. Any DIY fixes?

It’s not deep deep scratches but it sorta catches the tip of your nail when you run your finger across it. Are there any good fixes for something like this? I’ve heard people use sharpies but If the sun hits it you can definitely see sharpie lol

No kidding you think? What’s wrong with making things look nice once in a while?

 

Grease or oil might temporarily hide it.

 

You’re gonna have to replace all wheels. With some not made by fuel

 

The only real way is to have all the wheels stripped and redone. Not sure new wheels could be cheaper.

Having just one done the color never matches and will stand out like a sore thumb.

IF shiny nice things are important to you. Go for some serious bling!

 

Take your TRD Off Road off road and put deeper gouges on all four wheels?

 

If you really want to try and clean up, head to auto zone , or whatever car place you have locally, and look through the paint touch up pens. Get closest color possible , and then fill the scratch and carefully wipe Excess off with finger .
Do that a few times to get as clean as possible . Other that something similar your options are few as you can see it’s scratched what looks like down to the aluminum

Find a mobile wheel repair guy. I had a valet ding the wheel on my M3. I thought I was going to be out $1200 for a new one. Mobile guy came in, sanded and repainted it. You can't tell there are any differences now.

 

OP I get it too … I am running SCS wheels and I know eventually they’ll get scratch and dings cause I’m running off road and trails … but I sure like how they look without scratches

 

1st world problems... head gaskets, gear hunting, bad MPG, oh my. Oh, and light scratches in aftermarket wheels. Na, I get it OP, those are nice wheels, you want nice things to stay nice. Every day that goes by, you will let it go just a little bit more. cbouch001 probably has the best thoughts on the topic so far in this thread.

 

In my case as long as the wheels hold air they are just fine!!

 

Lol I know they were just brand new. It was my fault for not checking them throughly cause I know the dealer messed them up when they mounted and road force balanced them. Anywho I ended using this as a spare tire on the tail gate and got a new wheel for $70 off after talking to the rep. It’ll get messed up eventually but I do like to keep it shiny for a little bit while their new lol

 

This is why I need good technical reason to replace my wheels. To run 35s, yes. To replace a bent rim, yes. Only for looks ... not a change in h-e-double-toothpicks.

 

The cost to fix that wheel will be far greater than the cost of that wheel.

Also, I would probably not take that truck to the dealership EVER because they will scratch the ever living shit out of it rotating the tires.
