Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
I sure hope this is an appropriate forum for this old truck.

This isn't really a surprise find but I have this truck in the garage of our family house that I'm clearing out for a renovation and possible sale. My Brother in law parked it in the garage around the 2005 era. 121k on the 2.4L EFI 22R-E motor. Something about the brakes maybe having some issue but he can't remember what he had for breakfast that day. He did buy a new F150 right before parking this. It's been there since.

I'm thinking I'm gonna take it.

Body's straight, needs a reupholstered driver seat, and I can get a carpet kit for $160 to get that squared away.

I pulled the air intake components. Mouse nest in filter box but never got past the Toyota filter. I confirmed by removing all the components right up to throttle body. It's perfectly clean.

Battery's toast and will be replaced but not concerned yet since it's not ready to spin up the motor.

Pulled all the plugs and scoped all 4 cylinders. No oxidation, just a little carbon crust on the piston face. Clean cylinder walls with solid cross-hatch machining still present. Poured a bit of 0w16 I had on hand into each cylinder and blew around with compressed air to aid the rings/walls when it does get fired up.

    Will drain & fill oil

Gas tank has a drain in it which is so cool! I may drop it completely before going further to see inside condition. Can't tell if there any gas in it.

It'll get new plugs, cap, & rotor (remember those?)

Depending on fuel system condtion, I may pull injectors first but not untill I see what things look like in the tank.

Anything else that should be done before a turning it over?
Anyone ever have one of these? I recall the 22R & 22R-E supposedly being bullet proof motors. Would love to here any and all suggestions for this project.

    Fuel tank drain plug!
Shit, late model vehicles don’t even have fuel filter nowadays

That alone speaks volumes why you should resurrect this ole girl!!

It will have a fuel filter, what I would suggest is soak it, try to break the threads free, then soak it again and again slowly moving it so the fuel line doesnt break.

22RE will start with fresh fuel and oil, so its not too much to think about.

The big worry with that generation sitting is the fuel lines and brake lines rotting.

I just worked on a 95 the other day did a timing belt (v6) and called ball joints + tune up. Love the old trucks but also hate them.

The 3.slow is a miserable engine to work on… I just love when one comes in for headgaskets (seems to be a once a year thing)

Op, look for brake line leaks, seized brakes. Toss fresh oil in and fuel. It’ll probably outlive us all
